2018 Draft Lottery

Colonels outmuster Royals...

Karl Anthony Towns - Kentucky Colonels    Kentucky had finally made it to the Finals, and turned that into a ring, their first in franchise history after besting Scranton in five games.

The Colonels ability to add that banner in the rafters, was as a result of their front court duo of Karl Anthony Towns and Anthony Davis, the top two scorers in the series averaging 45 and 47 Fpts/G respectively.  Davis was named series MVP.

DeMar DeRozan - Scranton Royals        For the Royals, they could not match the Colonels juggernaut like scoring in the series, and fell behind early managing to avoid the sweep ekeing out a win in game two.

All in all however, it was a great season for the Royals, culminating in back to back appearances to the Championship Finals, and  were led in the series by SG DeMarr DeRozan.

We now officially embark into the off-season, with the NBA Playoffs tipping off soon... Next on tap in the FBF is the Draft Lottery show, set for Tuesday May 15th, followed by the NBA Draft on Thursday June 21st.

League Leaders

Colonels end draught, Royals return...

Anthony Davis - Kentucky Colonels        Kentucky had managed to make it to the Conference Finals in four straight seasons, quite an accomplishment on it's own indeed. Finally however, they were able to turn the corner downing the Lizards in four games to make it to the Finals.

They will face Scranton, who returns to the Finals after ending Iowa's longest playoff run in another series that went four games. The Royals are hoping for a better outcome this year, after losing in six games to the Aces High in 2016/17.

Center Anthony Davis continued his torrid playoff showing, leading all scorers in the Conference Finals averaging 45 FPts/G for the Colonels, followed by team-mates Karl-Anthony Towns and Khris Middleton.

The Championship Finals tip off Tuesday the 27th, and run thru April 11th.

Playoffs break for Russell All-Star Win...

Anthony Davis - All-Star MVP        The Wildcard Round of the playoffs have about half of game #1's completed, but this weekend the Playoffs took a break for the Annual All-Star Game.

Center Anthony Davis led all scorers with 65 FPts, leading the Russell Conference to their third straight win over the Chamberlain's by 20 Fpts !

The Wildcard Series continues play Thursday night...  A reminder, Injury/IR moves continue to be available throughout the playoffs, however Injury replacements must qualify at the same position.

Aces out-muster Royals for Second Title

Giannis Antetokounmpo - Aces High    The big 3 for the Aces proved to be the difference makers,as Butler, Wall, and Antetokounmpo edged the Royals front line averaging 44 FPts/G to take home their second FBF Championship crown.

Aces G/F Giannis Antetokounmpo was named series MVP, leading all scorers, with a four point edge over Jimmy Butler and John Wall.

DeMarr DeRozan - Scranton Royals        Scranton's top three of DeRozan, Gobert, and Wiggins were unable to match the Aces, averaging 37 FPts/G seven behind, but tiring Rookie Dario Saric appeared to be the differnce maker with only 23 FPts/G, down 10 points from his playoff average of 33.4.

The Royals have a solid core, so it won't be surprising to see them back again next season to defend their Conference Title.

We now officially embark into the off-season, with the NBA Playoffs tipping off soon... Next on tap in the FBF is the Draft Lottery show, set for Tuesday May 16th, followed by the NBA Draft on Thursday June 22nd.
